Democracy? Don't make me laugh.
- We, the citizens of Singapore
- pledge ourselves as one united people,
- regardless of race, language or religion,
- to build a democratic society,
- based on justice and equality,
- so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
- progress for our nation.
The man in-charge of the co-orperation tax payers pay all their money to said in answer to he question is Singapore ready for a non-chinese PM, No. Not anytime soon.
Firstly, how can one single person comment on something that is up to a Nation to decide, a nation that is supposedly a democratic society? No matter how powerful he is , there are still somethings that are out of his power aren't there? Perhaps its not so much about having a non-chinese PM in comparison to a fear of not having one of your sons being in the top seat, because lets face it, we know who's in still in charge of our Country. The head of the family of course. A country run by a father, a son and a daughter-in -law is not one that i would want to vote for when it becomes my decision.
Secondly, can we ask why not? If Mr Obama is now the most powerful man in the world, a man of colour. Is it not time for our Nation to have a change as well? Fine, if not a PM how about endorsing more non-chinese MPs.Perhaps a first step? Perhaps a step that should happen sometime soon? But history has proven, in Singapore. What is said by a Lee, is law.

On this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace soubriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me Zameer Husref. Victorian.2I08.4I10.EX-NAPS. 6/2'06
